Snap, Crackle and Pop

I bought the Barry M Crackle nail polish back in December and consequently let it sit in my nail polish box untouched and unopened. Then, I read Bubble Dreams’ blog on the China Glaze versions and thought I’d fulfil the Barry M version’s destiny.

I decided to use Rimmel Rose Libertine nail polish as a base:

I love the effect. It’s so clever how it works. You don’t need to wear polish underneath for the effect either. If you prefer, you can paint this straight onto bare nails (just with base coat) which looks quite cool.

Have you used this polish or something similar? What base colours have you tried? I’m not sure which colour would look best although I've seen white which creates a fab zebra nail.

NOTD

I'm so obessed with pink nail polish and I was on a big mish last weekend to find a really bright Barbie pink polish. My inspiration came in the form of Jessica from 'The Only Way Is Essex.' If you haven't seen it, then you're missing out on possibly the worse acting ever seen but at the same time a wholly addictive piece of televisual broadcasting. If you have seen it, then I'm guessing you either love or hate? Anyway, I love trashy TV so this is right up my street!

This is Jessica who often wears the loveliest pink nail polish:

You can kind of see the colour here:

Both the photos are from The Only Way Is Essex website, http://www.itv.com/channels/itv2/itv2shows/theonlywayisessex.

And here is my pink polish, Urban Princess by Rimmel which was in offer in Boots too so only cost around £3.50. I love the bright pink colour so much and the polish has lasted brilliantly - about 4 days completely chip free.

Have you seen any of The Only Way Is Essex? What do you think?

NOTD – Rose Libertine

I love pink. Pink anything and everything. Pink dresses, pink shoes, pink lipstick, pink shampoo. You name it, I love it! I’m a proper girly girl so more often than not I’m sporting a shade of pink nail polish on my nails. Recently, I’ve been wearing a bright pink polish from Boots 17 but I decided that now the nights are drawing in and the autumn wardrobe is making an appearance, I should probably tone down the colour.

So, I popped into Boots at the weekend and decided to use my Boots Advantage Points to buy a new pink (muted) polish. I picked up Rose Libertine by Rimmel which is a gorgeous dusty rose pink. Perfect.

I love this polish so much. It’s definitely one of my favourite pinks.

29. Nail Polish Rave

I'm a big fan of Revlon nail polishes because:

- the polish is so easy to apply as it's thin but still gives good coverage
- the brush allows for accurate application
- my nails stay chip proof for around 4 days (record breaking with my nails)
- they don't cost the earth
- they don't go thick and gloopy
My current fave is Tropical Temptation as modelled below:

With a name like that, I had to have it! The colour is slightly pinkier in real life but it's such a bright, summery shade. I would describe the colour as a pinky coral as opposed to an orangier coral. I've been wearing this for 4 days already and I've only had to touch up a few minor chips and I've been cleaning and washing up.

There are so many gorgeous summery shades of polish around at the moment that I'd like to try. I think summer allows for much prettier shades than winter.

What are your current favourite nail polishes?

22. Review: OPI Panda-monium Pink

Whilst in Sallys last week, I was perusing the OPI stand and came across Panda-monium Pink from the Hong Kong collection.

I love anything remotely pink but what I like about the colour most is that it's pinky lilac so it's bit different. The colour reminds me of Mod About You but it's slightly darker. And the best thing is that the polish cost me just under £5 :)

Verdict from the Chip Police: After 2 days, a small chip was noted on the middle finger but otherwise, no chips to report 4 days on.

I love pastel polishes, especially now the weather's starting to warm up. Which ones are your favourites? The new Barry M collection seems popular at the moment.
